The Refectory Café in Durham

Picnic tables, ceiling fans, green ceiling and menu board.
Outdoor seating area

Cindy and I decided to try another restaurant just south of downtown Durham before attending a show at DPAC. Our choice tonight was The Refectory Café. The weather was beautiful here in mid-June, so we made reservations for outdoor seating.

We ordered an appetizer, but our waiter forgot to turn in the order. This was inexcusable as it wasn’t busy, but it worked out as the entrée portions were big.

Cindy ordered the Wild Caught Norwegian Salmon with a cherry sage reduction, gnocchi with asparagus and artichoke hearts. She said her food was excellent.

I ordered the Chicken Marsala with a marsala wine sauce, cremini mushrooms over linguini. My dish was excellent as well.

For dessert Cindy had the lemon cheesecake and I had the Greek yogurt cheesecake. Both desserts were very good and were so large neither of us could finish our dessert.

Ten different types of cheesecakes, cakes and pies.
