Cindy and I were looking for someplace nice to eat before our Eagles concert at the Greensboro Coliseum. We chose a traditional steakhouse over a chain restaurant. Flemings Prime Steakhouse in Greensboro fit the description. When you walk in you recognize this as the real deal. Traditional wood decorated decorum with an elegant look.
We looked over the menu and noticed they had a Taste for Tuesday, which is a three-course meal for two, for the price of $135. I started with a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. It was not part of the Taste for Tuesday but worth a try. The shrimp were chilled and really big. It was a great start! We then both chose a fresh salad selection which was fresh and crisp. Our entrée choices were a 28 oz Prime Bone-In NY Strip and a 6 oz Filet Mignon. Both steaks came with a homemade steak sauce which was excellent. It was cooked to perfection, and you could cut it with your fork. (Cindy said she could cut through her filet like butter.) For sides we both chose loaded baked potatoes which were huge and tasty. We paced ourselves as we knew we had desserts to choose from as well. Cindy chose the Carrot cake, and I had the NY cheesecake. We had several bites from our dessert and could not finish. (We had enough leftovers to eat dinner the next day and it was still delicious.)
The meal was outstanding, and the service was excellent. The manager made a point of asking us how our meal was, and we never had a glass of water less than half full.
There is another Flemings in Raleigh, and we plan to try it as well. We look forward to returning to Greensboro as the meal was outstanding. Highly recommended!!!!
